The Festival highlights three prestigious exhibitions:

A look at Yves Saint Laurent, in the collection of Olivier Châtenet

From April 8 to May 14, 2017

Center for Economic and Cultural Meetings. 20 rue Victor Basch, Dinan.

Prices: €6 (normal rate), €4 (reduced rate), free for children under 10, €3.5 (group rate).

A fashion professional for 30 years, Olivier Châtenet began his career as an assistant to Azzedine Alaïa, then to Thierry Mugler. He then led various projects both for his own account, but also for prestigious houses, such as Hermès (4 years of women's ready-to-wear). Olivier Châtenet has also developed a textile collection focused mainly on stylists and designers from the 60s to the 80s, which currently includes more than 6,000 pieces. Yves Saint Laurent occupies the first place in this private collection (more than 3,000 pieces). This unique collection has allowed him to hold several exhibitions in Paris, Shanghai, and Hong Kong.

To accompany the International Festival of Young Fashion Designers in Dinan, the curator of the exhibition "A Look at Yves Saint Laurent" will focus on the timeless aspect of the couturier's style, thus highlighting his exceptional visionary qualities that have made his reputation throughout the world. Visitors will therefore be able to discover, chosen from the collection, examples of his great classics from the pea coat, the sailor's shirt, the tuxedo, the safari jacket or the trench coat as well as examples of his "imaginary journeys", highlighting the exoticism, the foundation of the designer. This exhibition, of national scope, will be presented for the first time in the provinces.

The headdresses of the Dinan Museum, a unique and exceptional collection

Collected and studied during the 1960s by Pierre Rochereau, the headdresses of the Dinan Museum form a unique heritage in Upper Brittany that bears witness to the evolution of these elements of adornment, from the Rance du Méné to the Rance maritime, from the 1830s to the 1930s. On the sidelines of the International Festival of Young Fashion Designers, from March 24 to May 30, the Dinan Museum is exhibiting a selection of headdresses from Dinan and its surroundings. Snowball, loq, cornette, bonnet pour coq and chupée will be highlighted to tell you about the origin, evolution and diversity of headdresses from the banks of the Rance.
